wind generator Inverter who can output in 1 outlet 240 volt is at possible?
I have at home a generator in my shed with all the cable install to my house. I have a second panel in my house when the electricity cut i can start the generator and used pretty much everything in the house except the big appliance…
Well i was thinking to install a wind generator on my land and use the set up i have right now for my emergency panel to use like everyday use. I was wondering if on the market we have some inverter who can have just 1 outlet 240 volt one so i can use the cable i use usually for the generator?
If not what my option?
My generator 6000 watt and the output its 240 volt 30 amp
If you have any website to suggest don’t be shy !
Thank you!

I am confused at creating a wind power generator.?
How can a generator listed with DC information generate AC current? Everything I have read seems to be fairly easy and straight forward. All these people that are doing these home generators must be electrical engineers. I guess I need to find an electrical engineer to help me build this thing. I am venting just a little. I guess if it was that easy everyone would build their own. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Mike
The problem of using an AC generator attached to a wind turbine is that the RPM of the wind turbine will vary. Thus the frequency of AC will change with changes in wind velocity. Some appliances will want a steady 60 Hz frequency. So, DC is used as Mellow said, and converted to a steady frequency AC. Batteries are needed for periods when wind dies.
my home has no electricity, which is best alternative, solar, wind power or generator?
I have same problem my house we have ellectric but it not always come when we want it.
if ellectric gone we use wax candle for light or gas lamp and wood for fire if cold.
sometime i sleep with goat to keep warm and keep company, so maybe you should get goat.
Genorator good we have one on tractor wich we use somtime for ellectric but its noisy with tv.
How do you calculate the number of copper wire coils for a generator so that I can generate 1200 Kw power?
I am building a home-made wind turbine generator with lots of tools, money and materials. I need to know how to calculate the number of copper coils, i.e. coil number, windings, size of windings, etc., to generate 1200 Kw of electricity. What size of copper wire? Size of magnets? How many? I am really interested on the mathematics of the wind turbine construction.
Hey USA, Bramble is quite correct. You have two issues here. First, design of the generator itself. The number and size of windings has more to do with the frequency of the generator output and the current you expect to carry through the winding. The power output will be a function of the current and the voltage that is generated. Once you have the generator built, and you know what RPM it needs to turn at, then you can get into the gritty part of designing the turbine. Your generator will require a certain amount of horsepower to turn it, and since most wind turbines operate in the 25% efficiency range, you then have to build a unit that can sweep an area and wind speed about 4 times the power output of your generator. 1200 KW by the way is huge, do you mean 1.2kw by chance?
We live in a home that has been powered by the wind and sun for years. Our wind turbine is rated at 900 watts, or .9kw, it’s just big enough to run the house on a windy day. We should have a 1.5kw unit, but for now, we are making due. There are formulas for figuring power output in watts for a given wind speed, air density and swept area of a wind turbine, the best place to go is the American Wind Energy Associations website. Go to google, type in, "wind turbine power formula," and look for a link to the AWEA.ORG website, that page has all the math work you’ll need for designing the turbine once you have the generator specs in hand. You’re embarking on a fairly complicated project, I don’t want to dissuade you from trying, but there are a lot of turbines out there for sale today for a whole host of locations and requirements. We tried to build our first one, it ran for 4 minutes. The second one kept burning up regulators because the wind was too strong for it. Our current one is working fine, but still has issues from time to time. Good luck with your project, and take care, Rudydoo
Would a 35KW wind generator produce enough electricity to heat and light a 1100sq. ft. home?
below load calculations, you may take it or leave it depending you need it or not
lighting at 3 watts/sqft, for 1100 sqft = 3.3 kw
2×20a appliance outlet @1500w each = 3.0 kw
laundry circuit = 1.5 kw
range = 12.0 kw
water heater = 2.5 kw
dishwasher = 1.2 kw
space electric heating = 9.0 kw
clothes dryer = 4.5 kw
total power = 37kw
since not 100% loads are on, apply the demand factor.
1st 10 kw at 100% demand, the remainder 27kw at 40% demand is 10.8 kw or a total power of 10 kw + 10.8 kw
or 20.8 kw is needed to supply you home. 35 kw is plenty.
Build a solar or wind propelled generator?
I want to know how to make a solar or wind propelled generator? First if i can make a solar and wind propelled generator and combine them to work at the same time. The solar panel can be around 12 volts. I just want to do this as a home project. I don’t want extreme power out of this. I am young but have a lot of experience with building electronics so keep it simple enough for me to do it.
well i dont know much but i hope this will help, i whould imagine for the wind power you whould need the light propeler to be somehow conected to a magnetic generater. and for the solar power, well i dont know much about that but i hope to find out soon.
Are there plans available for easy to build wind generator?
I live on the Oregon Coast and have PLENTY of wind. I want to utilize this wind to suplement electricity to my home. Are there affordable kits available or easy to build and understand plans?
Get your hands on a good sized fan blade (about 3′ dia) and an alternator from the car junkyard. Assemble the blade & alternator together with a tail so it will point into the wind.Mount the assembly on a bearing. You will then be generating 12vdc
How to build a economic "Wind Mill Generator"?
Can anyone show me how to build a home made wind generator. Or show me the site to it. Thanks and have a nice day.
Type wind power on Yahoo search.
Other related topics, alternative energy, free enery, windmill farms.
My suggestion, get a old electric fan or motor and rewire it to produce
electricty. You other parts like fan blades gears, battery, battery charger.
voltage converter etc.
Let me know when you have one working.
grants or refunds for solar/wind powered home?
I have an off-grid solar and wind powered home in upstate New York. I was told that President Obama has restructured going green incentives and large refunds and grants might be available. I recently have added new wind generator equipment and would also like to add more solar panels, does any one know how I can find out what I might be eligible for ?

Can anyone recommend a supplier of wind generators for home use that is NOT a scam .?
