PLEASE HELP!

i do not think there is that many types of wind turbines because wind turbine’s solo purpose is to make eletricity and they don not really bulid them in the suburbs because it may be noise and it take a lot of space and also ot needs a lot of wind so only a limited area will be able to set up wind turbines.

I live in the mountains and wind is never and issue here. Do you have any links?

http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/03/personal_wind_t.php

Have not seen any that are grid integrated. Will check back to see what you find.

Edit: Did a little checking all electric companies must purchase excess energy you produce. Call the customer service dept. from your local elec. company and ask for a written company policy of connecting a wind device to power grid. Many are encouraging this at this time since it is also a cheap source of power for them.

Can you turn this into a speech for me?

Product: The Eco-spray and Paper Flattener
Raw Materials: corn, wheat or sugar beet for biodegradable spray bottle and for the Paper Flattener. This is made out of Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) that comes from the starch of rich plants such as sugar beet, corn and wheat. This goes through a fermentation and condensation process to create the Poly Lactic Acid. Ink removable spray substance (Eco-spray) is to be invented.
Power source: Any source of energy will do. We can use electricity from nuclear energy, solar energy, fossil fuels, wind energy or whatever to run laboratory equipment. As a result we can use the kinetic energy of the wind to create clean energy for the laboratory equipment/processing.
Transportation: Since we decided to have all of the manufacturing process and distribution stores to be in Canada, the best and cheapest way to distribute them is by Transport trucks. This way we can transport raw materials to our manufacturing industry and taking the finished product to different franchised stores.
Location: These are the factors of where we should locate our factory and why:
1.Close to where we get our raw materials for the product – If our factory is near the locations in which we get the raw materials, than the distance of transporting it to the factory would be closer. This way we can save money and time by transporting it a shorter distance rather than long.
2.Sufficiently windy places exposed high areas, like hills or small mountains for wind turbines to create energy for factory – To create energy for the factory we need wind turbines near the factory. Therefore the location of the factory should be open high areas for enough wind to create energy.
3.Near roads for transport trucks to come in and out of the factory area – It would be easier to have roads near the factory so the raw materials can be transported directed to the factory, rather than having people move them from a far distance to the factory. Near water so ships can easily distribute product to other countries.
4.On industrial land – this is where land/property is usually less expensive since we need a vast amount of land. It is important to locate the factory on industrial land and not residential land, so it is not populace.
Benefits of spray and paper flattener:
1.Environmentally friendly
2.Can reuse same paper continuously
3.Spray bottle and paper flattener has better strength than plastic/acrylic material
4.The material is the same price as regular material
5.Spray bottle and paper flattener does not decompose instantly but will in direct contact with 100% renewable resource such as soil and with decompose in 100 days

I Can

I’m on the verge of buying a house (in the midwest) within a month and would like to cut back on utilities, so I’m trying to determine which would provide the most savings. I know a typical horizontal axis windmill would be more efficient, but unfortunately it’s out of the question (due to safety & space issues) in a residential area. Due to financial limits, I can’t get both (at least not yet). I will be using a gas stove since electric ones are such power hogs (in case that makes a difference).

Geothermal is always going to be better in the long run. Once you get pipe down a certain depth (usually 4-6 ft) the earth’s temperature is pretty consistent at 55 deg F. Wind energy is great! and generally a better bang for your buck IF you always have wind. The problem is that unless you live in Wyoming it’s not going to be consistent enough and the cost to build it is too much.

There are gov’t subsidies for both also. But a closed-loop geothermal system will be the cheapest.

But if you want to get really fancy you could do an open system: use water to heat the house and use the hot water in the shower, etc. This is much more expensive up front though. It would change your heating system completely and your water system.

It is at the back of the garden but it is overlooked by all ajoining properties.I would say it is approx 20foot high and the blades are at least 6 foot in diameter. He previously had one about half this size. Are you allowed to erect these in residential properties or would he need planning permission. It is an intrusion into every room at the rear of my house and will be unbearable in the summer as it is only a few feet from my garden, making it an eye sore
In reply to all you rightious people who say its good for the enviroment, lets hope your neighbours get one. I wonder if your opinions will change then!!
It must be idiots hour in the ANSWERS
I’m glad to see that i’m not the only person who objects to having these monsters in my eyesight. Thanks Mufcdive and Alsison

Are you allowed to erect these in residential properties or would he need planning permission?

This is highly local — contact your local building department and ask.

please i need sites or links on all about wind energy and turbine for my written report

Your question would need to be more specific, but since you have a general question I guess you could use a general anwswer. Energy in wind is kinetic energy which is directlly related to its mass and velocity. This kinetic energy can be converted to mechanical energy for many purposes. Wind energy has been used for centuries for milling and pumping purposes. Basically a turbine (vertical or horizontal axis) is driven by blowing wind and the rotary motion would drive a mechanical mill or pump. The main use today is different though. The same types of turbines drive electric generators instead. This electric generator will transform the mechanical energy in the rotating motion of the turbine in to electrical energy. The electrical energy can either be used right at the site in small scale applications or fed in to a grid where any user within the circuit has access to it. This circuit is sometime even the same circuit as other more traditional means of electric generation like coal, hydroelectric, gas, etc. Therefore it would be interesting to check with your electric utility provider what is their generation mix. Very lickelly you will find that a wind farm is feeding part of your day to day electricity use. Then the answer to your question would be: Wind energy can be used from anything to driving a car factory to residential use to drive your tv and microwave.
