Bringing The Home Wind Generator To Ordinary Rooftops
<< Eco-bungalow with home wind generator set to open its doors to the public next month Home Wind Generator Planning Permission in Wisconsin >>

This article touches on a possible reason why so many home wind generator owners are needlessly disappointed.
This quote stood off the page when I read it:-
“Don’t trust your memories about the wind power around your house,” he said. “People always remember when it’s windy,” but forget about the lulls.
However, the article also suggests that putting one up on roof top is he way to go. That’s something I would be vary warey of in the light of new research from the Energy Saving Trust. The turbine example showed that in 35 days just 3 days worth of energy were generated.
If you do the sums you will see that this installation is going to take forever to pay for itself, unless they were able to claim the full 70% rebate.
Much better to mount it on a pole away from any trees or buildings.
