Bringing The Home Wind Generator To Ordinary Rooftops I want to install a wind generator to my home in Costa Rica, anyone know the legalities involved for CR? >>
I am frequently asked whether planning permission is required for a home wind generator. My answer is usually “It depends”, since regulations are different all over the world.
However, I just found an interesting story about a man who installed a residential wind turbine in Wisconsin. It that state municialities and homeowner associations can not normally stop someone installing renewable energy systems but in this instance the turbine was mounted so high that it needed a structural license.
Here’s a link to the article:-
“The wind turbine that he then installed about a year later, however, really caught the eye of village officials and neighbors.
While Wisconsin prohibits municipalities and homeowners associations from prohibiting structures that generate renewable energy, the turbine in question needed a structural permit, something the homeowner did not have at the time.”
