Rooftops are widely considered by experts as a bad location for small wind generators …. until now.

The Energy Saving Trust has found that the worst performing wind turbines are often roof mounted. But a former Rolls Royce engineer has invented a new turbine, called the ridgeblade, that could change all that.

It gathers energy along the whole length of the roof and takes into consideration flow patterns over roof tops.

This definitely a product worth watching as it’s obviously been designed by someone who knows what he’s doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes a huge trend in the next 2-5 years if the price is right.
